Space
Apartment 10 sits on the first floor of a small apartment building in central York. It's a simple, comfortable base with everything you need for a city break, without paying for space you won't use.
Kitchen/diner: The main living space is the kitchen and dining area, with a table and breakfast-bar stools. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with ice box, a kettle and toaster, and a washer/dryer. It's well stocked with crockery, cookware and utensils if you'd like to cook.
Bedroom 1: A double bed with bedside tables and wardrobe storage.
Bedroom 2 (family room): A king-size bed plus a sofa bed and a Smart TV. There's also a clothes rail for hanging space.
Shower room: A walk-in shower, basin and WC.
Sleeping arrangements: The apartment sleeps 4 comfortably across the two beds. The sofa bed in the family room takes it up to 6, which works best for children or friends who don't mind sharing a room.
Fresh bed linen, towels, WiFi, heating and electricity are all included.
Access
You'll have the whole apartment to yourselves. Entry is via a shared main door and communal staircase to the first floor, with keypad self check-in so you can arrive at any time after check-in opens. We'll send your door codes and full arrival instructions before your stay.
Neighborhood
You're right in the centre of historic York. From the front door you can wander to York Minster, the Shambles, the medieval city walls and a huge choice of independent shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs.
Everything that makes York special is within walking distance: river boat trips, the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle Museum, the National Railway Museum and the city's two theatres. York Racecourse is a short hop away on race days.
Further afield, Castle Howard is around a 30-minute drive, and the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and the coast at Scarborough and Whitby all make great day trips.
Transit
York city centre is compact and best explored on foot; most of the main sights are within a 15-minute walk.
The apartment has no private parking. Much of the city centre has traffic restrictions and car parks are expensive, so we recommend York's Park & Ride if you're arriving by car. Buses run into the centre every few minutes.
Notes
The apartment is on the first floor and is reached by stairs only. There's no lift, so it may not suit guests with limited mobility.
As a city-centre property, you may hear some street noise at times, particularly from the front bedroom on weekend evenings. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs.
Self check-in is via keypad. Your codes will be sent before arrival.
Linen, towels, WiFi and all utilities are included.
